About James Stout's Bay Area Gadgets
Bay Area Gadgets was conceived over the last 15 years before launching in July, 2006.  Unknown to me at the time, my dream was to visualize, design, and implement the digital lifestyle through the increaslingly ubiquitous Flat Panel TVs and the products which support them.  Since my target audience is the Silicon Valley, I wanted my services to address the opportunities and pitfalls unique to Silicon Valley's electonircs retailers, general contractors, furniture showcases, & interior designers.

During my high-tech sales & business development career, I pursued my hobby: computers, home theater, digital photography, and other emerging technologies with a vengence.  This led to subscriptions to 40+ technology publications and assisting over 200+ professionals & their families build or update their home entertainment systems or home offices.  I was always on the prowl for the latest Gadgets which would enhance people's lifestyles.  I was equally passionate about helping friends avoid products & services which didn't offer fair value or work as advertised.  My wonderful wife, Molly, finally told me it was time to make my passion my profession.  I never say no to those wiser than me.

Over the next few years, I tested products, set corporate strategies, and published articles for Best Buy, Good Guys, and CompUSA. I was sent to the Las Vegas Consumer Electronics Show to report on emerging trends which change weekly, sometimes daily. 2009 will be my 10th CES where I and my trusted colleagues seek out those secrets the industry prefers you didn't have.  Each year I'm amazed how little is shared with the public.

On July 10, 2006, I realized the only way to execute my vision of the digital home for mainstream families was to create it myself.  Bay Area Gadgets was born.
